Hearing Aid Hurts or Feels Loose: Causes & Fixes
Work through these in order
- Wrong dome size — Domes come in multiple sizes — the right one is snug but forgettable; we swap sizes free.
- New-wearer adaptation (first 2 weeks) — Mild awareness for the first 1–2 weeks is normal adaptation; pain is not — pain means refit.
- Ear canal shape change / weight change — Canals change with significant weight change and age; a refit visit re-measures.
- Receiver wire length wrong — Wire lengths are sized (1–4); wrong length pulls or dangles — quick free swap.
