Decibel (dB) — Hearing Aid Glossary
What does Decibel (dB) mean?
The logarithmic unit of sound intensity. Normal conversation ≈ 60 dB; sounds above ~85 dB damage hearing over sustained exposure. Hearing thresholds up to 20 dB are considered normal.
